Miya is the leader of MUCC, and writes most of the songs and lyrics. When he went to school he actually wanted to play the drums, but his parents thought drums were too big and noisy so they told him to start playing the guitar instead. Incidentally, his parents are music teachers. He listened to a lot of classical music in his youth, and is quite good at playing the piano.

The other members describe him as being quite scary. According to Tatsurou, Miya always makes little noises. For example, when he's surprised he goes "Geh?!" They also say he is very good at drawing, and that he's very attractive in the morning. He is always up early and shouts "good mooorniiiiing!" with a big smile on his face.
